The beetroot is the taproot portion of the beet plant,[1] usually known in North America as the beet, also table beet, garden beet, red beet, or golden beet. Beetroot is often used as food coloring, and as a medicinal plant. Beetroot has fast become a popular Superfood.  Due to the recent studies claiming that beets and beetroot juice can improve athletic performance, lower blood pressure, and increase blood flow.  new products are incorporating Beetroot, from juices, powders, vitamins, etc.. Beetroot was first cultivated by the Romans, and was used for a variety of conditions related to blood and digestion. It was also used to enhance the color of wine.

    AREE. AT age 91 I eat them daily.. They are delicious grated raw in salads.
